Dos Maderas means "two types of wood", and the meaning of 5+5 is that this blend of rums from Guyana and Barbados first has been aged for five years in the Caribbean, shipped to Spain and aged three more years in Dos Cortados sherry casks before the last stage, where the rum is matured two more years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, hence the "PX".
