Wine Enthusiast Review
This would be a straightforward Bordeaux red blend if not for the 5% Petite Sirah within. Together, it's 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec as well, sourced from Howell Mountain and valley floor sites. Dusty and herbal, the wine is thick and sizably tannic, with dense black fruit, leather and coffee.
In the glass, the Q Red Blend is a deep, ruby red color with a vivid purple hue. Aromas of high tone black fruits, maraschino cherries and brown spice are pronounced. The blueberry and red fruit notes are accented by notes espresso and brown spice. The wine is juicy and plush on the palate with blackberry, tea and spice notes evident. The velvet tannins are mouthcoating and leave and almost chocolate note on the long, juicy fruit finish. This wine is incredibly approachable and delicious now but will show well for the next 10 years at minimum.
