The 2016 HALL Merlot is another fantastic bottling from Hall in this vintage. On the nose this offers expressive aromatics of crème de cassis and tar aromas that mingle with shades of blackberry cobbler. The soft texture is inviting, as the wine unveils copious dark fruits and chocolate flavors. This balances on showcasing the ripeness of the vintage, while showing nice restraint. While fantastic now, this compelling Merlot will continue to evolve well for at least another decade. Drink now-2029.
Medium ruby in color, this wine opens with floral notes of rose petals, violets and lavender. Ripe blackberry, black cherry and vanilla round out the nose. On the palate, the wine is supple with dark fruit, baking spice, cedar, and a mineral-driven finish.
