A beautifully refined expression of Pommard, the Clos des Ursulines showcases the appellation’s power with an unmistakable sense of elegance. The nose is deep and expressive, layered with black cherry, blackcurrant, ripe fig, violet, rose petal, and peony, followed by subtle hints of spice and well-integrated oak. . On the palate, this is full-bodied yet remarkably silky, with generous fruit, impressive concentration, and ripe, polished tannins. Its calcareous clay soils and proximity to Volnay lend the wine an almost graceful, feminine character, balancing Pommard’s natural strength with finesse and precision. The finish is long, velvety, and beautifully persistent, leaving layers of dark fruit and spice behind. . The Clos des Ursulines is a 3. 76-hectare monopole, planted to 35–40-year-old Pinot Noir vines on calcareous clay and white marl. Hand-harvested and carefully sorted, the grapes undergo a 3–4 week maceration in temperature-controlled wooden vats before aging for 14–16 months in oak, 20–30% of which is new. . A serious yet graceful Burgundy with the structure to evolve beautifully in the cellar. . Pair with: Roasted or braised beef, duck, pork, game, and medium to mature cheeses. . Serve: 59–61°F. Cellaring: 5–7 years and beyond. 94 Points – Decanter (2022) | 94 Points – James Suckling (2020) | 94 Points – Wine Enthusiast (2019)
