This estate Pinot noir was made from hand harvested fruit.  Berries were destemmed and crushed prior to fermentation.  The resulting wine was aged in big old oak barrels and underwent malolactic fermentation for a softer mouthfeel. . This wine is a typical traditional Ahr Pinot. In the nose you find a slightly earthy aroma of red berries like blackberry, blueberry and raspberry as well as ripe cherries, strawberries and blackberries with spicy traces of juniper and laurels. A smooth wine with elegant tannin structure and good substance. . 91 points Wine Enthusiast. This is very aromatic, with rosehip tea note extending to the palate where it meets with sweet berry fruit and spice notes. Licorice and earth elements emerge as the firm structure takes over on the finish.  â Aleks Zecevic
