Altosur, from Finca Sophenia, is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Tupungato, in Mendoza. The vineyards are planted at an elevation of 4,000 ft. on soils of alluvial origin, loose and highly permeable structure. With a cooler climate, the terroir benefits from wide diurnal temperature variation. The fruit is estate grown, hand-picked and gravity fed to tank. Altosur produces Torrontes, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec Rose. Winemakers German Masera and Matias Michelini are recognized for excellent wines, innovation and respect for the land. The name Altosur means âhigh in the southâ in Spanish.
