A full-bodied wine with a surprisingly powerful full-bodied taste with traditional notes of ripe berries and spice, ripe tannins and a long elegant finish. The aroma of wine infused bright notes of plum and blackberry with hints of cinnamon, cloves and skin. The wine goes well with grilled meat, warm pate, ham and French cheese varieties "Epoisse" and "Langres". 93 Points - Vinous The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has an intriguing bouquet of dark cherries bergamot and cassis retaining the opulent aromatics that I noted last year. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins and quite closed at the moment with a mineral-driven finish. This will certainly need 4–5 years to open but there is good potential for this sturdy Clos Vougeot.
