Undurraga recently developed a historic wine that draws on their long history dating back over 100 years to 1885. It is a limited production run of only 1,359 bottles and is produced from the classic field blend that the original grape growers and winemakers used long ago consisting of Malbec, Carignan, Cabernet, Cinsault and Pais. The bottles are individually numbered, sealed with a wax capsule and display a beautiful scene of the original estate vineyards.

This Maule Valley field blend of Malbec with 10% Carignan, Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the southern end of the region, close to the Itata Valley, where the temperatures are cooler. Big, bold and perfumed, with violet and black tea aromas and fig damson and blackberry fruit, this is very promising indeed.
91 Points James Suckling. . . A medium-bodied red with aromas of blackcurrants, dried strawberries, rose petals, dark spices and chocolate. Sleek, tight-grained tannins and crisp acidity frame a juicy, flavourful core of red and black fruit.
