At all of their vineyards, whether at their home-base in Chianti or here on the Tuscan coast in Marema, Querciabella practices "Cruelty-Free Biodymanic" viticulture. This means not only using organic farming methods, but it also "bars the use of animal-derived products from all phases of grape growing and winemaking". In other words all of their wines are vegan. This blend of Sangiovese (50%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) is also completely unoaked. But how does it taste you ask? Delicious of course! Beautifully integrated red and black berry fruits are accented by what the winery calls "marked territoriality" - the earth and herb notes of Tuscany. Suave, balanced and elegant, Mograna is a wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with a great meal. Bravo!
