3 Carciofo is a Bitter Aperitivo emphasizing the dense, vegetable style of bitterness provided by 3 types of artichokes and cardoon leaves. Coming from the sunflower family, cardoons are a thistle-like plant with relatable flavors to that of traditional artichokes. The addition of fresh grapefruit peels during maceration (infusion) provides bright citrus notes to compliment the hearty bitterness of the artichokes. Sitting at 23% ABV, this mid-grade Aperitivo has an airy aroma of radicchio and endive followed by a slightly sweet and densely bitter body. Great for Black Manhattans, Rum cocktails, Spritzes, Americanos and Negroni variations. (Think Aperitivo Relative to Cynar)
