As a homage to the great German prince of poets and upon occasion of its 120th anniversary, the House of Asbach presents a unique treasure: the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Vintage Reserve 1952 - limited to 900 carafes made by a Bohemian glass factory. This special distillate was made by the Asbach Distillery in Rudesheim on the Rhine. A selected white wine from 1951 forms the basis for this specialty spirit. It was distilled by Master Distiller Oswald Rosel on July 31, 1952, using the traditional manual method of double distillation in copper stills. The distillate was initially allowed to mature for an extremely long period of time in small casks made of the finest Limousin oak. In the Asbach Treasure Trove, the distillate’s bouquet was later aged to perfection in larger casks made of German oak. The special edition is limited to 900 elegant carafes (1 liter/41. 8% vol. ), exclusively made by a Bohemian glass factory. Each carafe comes with its own bottle number, cask number and certificate of authenticity. The Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Vintage Reserve 1952 comes with two original Asbach connoisseur glasses and is presented in an elegant wooden box that was specially designed to hold this special treasure.
