A partnership between Marcelo Morales and Joey Tensley, the 2016 Carinena Old Vine Special Selection gives up beautiful notes of black cherries, plums, new leather, and pepper, and hints of violets. It's juicy, vibrant, and fresh on the palate, with terrific fruit and a great finish. It's a smoking wine.
Our winemaking technical team together with Joey Tensley, named "Santa Barbara winemaking star" by Wine Spectator have captured the unique character of the Garnacha from Carinena, by selecting small parcels of 40+ year old vines from the many diverse terroirs in Grandes Vinos portfolio of vineyards. Head-pruned old vines.
