Other text A wine with a prestigious name and origins lost in legend, which entranced the great Voltaire in 1700. The grape is Piedirosso, mentioned by Pliny two thousand years ago. It is grown, in soil rich in ash, in the area surrounding Vesuvius. The fiery passion of the land finds direct expression in the wine, even after long aging.

Producer Established in the 1750s by winemaker Pietro di Mastro Berardino, Mastroberardino is Campania”s most renowned winery. Pietro was awarded the professional title of Mastro as testament to his skill in quality winemaking, a tradition that continued uninterrupted for 10 generations and lives on to this day.
