The Cellar Master seeks ampleness and structure in this cuvee, in search of a gourmet blend which must nevertheless retain a certain freshness. A marriage which demands the precision of a specialist in order to bring out the elegance of style that is the hallmark of PerrierJouet champagne. The choice of Crus is carefully adjusted according to the harvest. An addition of 12 to 15% of reserve wines creates the consistency required to balance the Perrier-Jouet style with the climatic effects of the year. Built on the model of the Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut, which is driven by the intensity of the Chardonnay in the blend, Perrier-Jouet Blason Rose is enriched by the addition of red wines. The elegance and finesse of the Chardonnay (25%), blend with the structure of the Pinot Noir (50% including the added red wines) and the fruitiness of Pinot Meunier (25%) - a grape with which Perrier-Jouet has acquired specific expertise Wine maker notes ”Production: Perrier-Jouet’s first non-vintage Brut Rose was created in 1956 when 100 experimental bottles of “Blason de France Rose” were made by adding red wine to the same assemblage as “Blason de France. ” Blason Rose is held to the same high standards as the “Blason” cuvee, and produced in equally limited quantities. The grapes are pressed in Cramant on Perrier-Jouet’s traditional wooden presses. After it is racked, the clear juice is transported to Épernay for fermentation. The wine is aged in modern, stainless steel tanks which allow for perfect temperature control. The bottles are aged in the house’s historic champenois aging cellars, which are tunneled directly into the chalky soil of Champagne. The Champagne caves run 50 feet deep and remain at a constant temperature of 52° F. ”

Other text A vineyard of 65Ha ranked at 99,2% on the Grand Cru scale. There are five main ’Crus’ featured in all Perrier-Jouet’s cuvees : Cramant (27Ha) and Avize (9Ha) in the Cote des Blancs, Chardonnay, 100% Grand Cru more than half of the Perrier-Jouet vineyard bring finesse and the typical floral notes (white flowers) style as well as length thanks to an optimum mid-hillside sunlight exposition. Mailly (9Ha) in the North of the Montagne de Reims, Pinot Noir: it brings power and elegance (less heavy than those from Bouzy or Ambonnay) through little red fruit notes. Ay (10Ha) and Dizy (10Ha), in the Vallee de la Marne, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The Pinot Noir from A bring elegance through its fresh fruits notes. The Pinot Meunier from Dizy (rated at 95%), located on the right bank of the Marne Vallee, brings roundness benefiting from warmer temperature than those from the Ardre Vallee. They bring generosity and are the bridge between Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs.

Food pairing The voluptuous freshness of Perrier-Jouet Blason Rose is delicious with salmon, red snapper or sushi, whilst its richness matches beautifully with duck breast or lamb with red fruits like cranberries.
