Part of the new range of Distillery Labels released by Gordon & Macphail in 2018 Aged in refill Sherry Hogsheads for 20 years Nose: Delicious dry sherry aromas mingles with cinnamon and clove. Toffee apple notes give way to mixed peel gradually developing into subtle malty undertones. Palate: Smooth and creamy; ripe apricots and stewed plum coated in orange marmalade lead into flavours of bitter dark chocolate highlighted by notes of blackberries, blackcurrants, and sticky fig jam. Finish: Long and lingering with nuanced aniseed, candied citrus peel, and charred oak. One of the few richly peated Highland malts and now becoming a very well respected single malt after many years of being best known for its use in The Teacher's blended Scotch.
