Zuccardi expressed through each of its wines, the essence of their origin, the unique and perfect combination of climate, soil, altitude and human work. Each line of Zuccardi wines represents a concept, a belief, a tribute, is the true expression of the vineyard where it was conceived.
| Review |
| The Zuccardi wines I tasted in April were consistently superb and the estate’s top wines are among the finest being made in Argentina today. Zuccardi owns several prime sites in Uco Valley, including their two highest vineyards in Gualtallary and San Pablo, both of them rich in calcaire. Like some of his colleagues who are seeking to preserve terroir differences in their various wines, Sebastian Zuccardi vinifies mostly in concrete tanks and eggs, and also makes extensive use of concrete and used foudres to age his wine. He told me that he hasn’t purchased any new barriques in the past four years. The Zuccardi wines are hardly cheap but they are well worth seeking out. - From Argentina’s Wines Enter the World Stage (Jul 2018) by Stephen Tanzer |
